House Officer Intakes
Every year, the Ministry of Health conducts six intakes for housemanship, providing medical graduates with multiple opportunities to commence their training and gain practical experience in various medical specialties. These intakes are facilitated through the e-Housemen system, which streamlines the application process and allows candidates to plan their time effectively.
By offering multiple intakes, the system provides flexibility for candidates to prepare for their transition into the workforce, ensuring a smoother entry into the healthcare system and contributing to a more organized and efficient deployment of new medical practitioners later on once they finished their housemanship training.
This structured approach not only benefits the candidates but also supports the healthcare system by ensuring a steady supply of qualified doctors ready to contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare services across the country.
Before commencing their responsibilities at their selected hospital, each new junior doctor in every intake will participate in a 5-days induction program known as Program Transformasi Minda. This program is designed to provide them with the necessary preparation and orientation for their roles and responsibilities within the healthcare setting as well as a government servant.
